It can take seven years for a lilac bush to bloom for the first time after planting. Such a long time to wait for something so small. But if you've ever smelled one, you know it is worth waiting for. In our right-now, instant gratification, immediate results culture, seven years can seem like an eternity - and seven generations downright incomprehensible.
